Small batch cake recipes, baked the old way
Every cake on Cake Half was baked in Teresa’s kitchen in the small tin first: 6-inch layers, half-sheets, a dozen cupcakes instead of two, and the vintage classics scaled to a table of four.

Who bakes Cake Half
Meet Teresa
Teresa’s baking started with a recipe box in a North Carolina kitchen: her grandmother’s handwritten cards, measurements in handfuls, instructions that ended with until it looks right. Those recipes fed twelve. Her table seats four. Cake Half is what happened next – the same cakes, worked out again at half the size, so a 6-inch layer cake or a half-sheet gets baked on a Tuesday instead of saved for Christmas. Every recipe here was made in her kitchen, in the small tin, before it was written down.
